About me
I am Claudia Ducksworth, your child’s College Transition teacher. I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in May of 2003 with my Bachelor of Science Degree. In May of 2007, I graduated from William Carey University with a Master’s Degree in Education. I began teaching in 2006 and just recently relocated to join my husband here at Fort Bliss. I am looking forward to an exciting year! It is my goal to provide all students with an educationally challenging, yet fun, experience in my classroom. I have extremely high expectations of all my students, and I am asking for your help to maintain those expectations by checking with your son/daughter periodically to make sure that his/her work is being done. I want to work as a team to ensure that your child becomes an independent lifelong learner. I am confident that together we can provide the support and encouragement needed to help your child excel.
Throughout the year we will be exploring the different ways to handle stress, set goals, and conduct research. We also will be focusing on effective time management and test taking strategies. As your child's College Transition teacher, one of my goals is to encourage him/her to seek their own unique creative mode and to interpret ideas in ways that most appeal to their own creative nature. I recognize that all of us learn, create, and express ideas in a different ways. In addition, I will be assigning projects and assignments throughout the school year. Your help and support will not only make your child more successful but it will instill good habits that will last a lifetime.
I do not anticipate problems which cannot be worked out in a spirit of cooperation. I have been careful to explain my syllabus, expectations, rules, and consequences to all my classes. Finally, I want you to know that another one of my goals is to keep the lines of communication open with you. I am looking forward to a very successful year and I know you are too. Please feel free to contact me at 915-832-4270 or [email protected].
Sincerely,
Claudia Ducksworth
